The true origin date of the language is unknown but it was originated from frisian dialects but was only brought to England during 5th/6th century.

Well how old English is, hardly has any relevance to learning to speak it well. I'm sure Google can give you the whole history but remember, languages evolve over a period of time and what English was a couple of hundred of years ago, would have hardly been anything like what it sounds now.
