Do you agree with the philosophy that we have "two ears and one tongue" implying that "we should listen as twice as we speak?"

I agree with the import of the axiom that "we have two ears and one tongue". More than listening, to my mind, it is the introspection over what we got to hear that is more important. We may use the tongue to issue a response; or we may prefer to keep quiet. Hope this helps.

That is really good and we should pick it nicely but most of the problems happen because we listen less and assume that this will be the next statement and create an UN-necessary issue.

According to me it can be interpreted as we should listen properly since we have got two ears, try to analyse what other person wants to say and then speak upto the mark without hurting the other person's feelings.

Listening is more important than speaking. Only when we listen we will know what to speak.

Philosophically, yes. Mathematically though, considering A hears 100 words and consequently speaks 50, B would be hearing 50 and speaking 25, and so on and so forth! Eventually, for all practical purposes, the world would be silent! Just saying! :P

We have two ears and one tongue so that we would listen more and talk less We can be quick to speak, yet forget the wisdom of listening for as long as we can to get the full picture about something.
