Is beta testing the same as user acceptance testing?

Acceptance testing is of two types: Alpha Testing and Beta Testing. Alpha Testing is the one which is performed in a production simulated environment,at developer's location once the product is ready for client delivery. While Beta Testing is performed in similar environment,at client's location.
