While considered one of the easier instruments to start learning due to its layout and accessibility, mastering the keyboard still requires significant dedication and practice, meaning it's not necessarily "easy" to learn, but can be a good entry point for beginners who want to learn music theory and play melodies with both hands simultaneously; the difficulty increases as you progress to more complex pieces and techniques. Key points about learning keyboard: Easy to start: The visual layout of keys makes it relatively simple to understand basic note placement and play simple melodies. Good for music theory: Learning keyboard naturally introduces you to concepts like scales, chords, and reading sheet music. Challenges arise with complexity: Coordinating both hands independently, playing complex chords, and advanced techniques can become quite challenging with increasing skill level. Practice is key: Like any instrument, consistent practice is essential to progress and develop proficiency. read less
