mechanics is the only part in complete iit-jee syallabus in which u dont have to memorize a single thing, it is all about the concept. Now coming to your ques the only way to make your mechanics stronger is to find reason behind every single step that u are doing, belive me if u just follow this step u will start loving mechanics Now I personally recommend u to first try and do self study from HC verma and try to understand what's going on and then watch NV sir lectures from etoos u can watch them for free (jugaad laga ke) and then solve the back exercise ques from HC verma and after that you can do either BM sharma or DC pandey or your coaching modules. I will further like to add that in mechanics each chapter is interlinked so please follow the order of HC verma. read less

Strengthening your mechanics for IIT-JEE involves a systematic approach that includes understanding concepts, practicing problems, and reviewing regularly. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you: ### 1. **Conceptual Understanding:** - **Textbooks and Reference Books:** - **"Concepts of Physics" by H.C. Verma:** Start with this book as it explains concepts in a clear and concise manner. Focus on understanding the theory and derivations. - **"Fundamentals of Physics" by Halliday, Resnick, and Walker:** Use this for a more detailed explanation and additional practice problems. - **"Problems in General Physics" by I.E. Irodov:** For advanced problems that challenge your understanding and application skills. - **Class Notes and Coaching Material:** - Make sure your class notes are comprehensive and clear. Coaching institute materials often provide summaries and extra practice problems. ### 2. **Practice Problems:** - **Solved Examples:** - Start with solved examples to understand the application of concepts. Use the examples in H.C. Verma and your coaching material. - **Exercise Problems:** - Solve all exercise problems in H.C. Verma. This book has a good mix of basic to advanced problems. - Move on to problems in Halliday, Resnick, and Walker for additional practice. - **Advanced Problems:** - Solve problems from I.E. Irodov to push your limits. - Use past IIT-JEE papers to get a feel of the actual exam difficulty and question patterns. ### 3. **Regular Revision:** - **Short Notes:** - Make short notes of important formulas, concepts, and shortcuts. Revise these regularly. - **Mistake Log:** - Maintain a log of mistakes you make while practicing problems. Regularly review this log to ensure you don’t repeat the same mistakes. ### 4. **Mock Tests and Test Series:** - **Timed Practice:** - Take regular timed tests to simulate exam conditions. This will help you improve speed and accuracy. - Use test series from reputed coaching institutes like Allen, FIITJEE, Resonance, or any other institute you trust. ### 5. **Focused Topics:** Mechanics is a broad area, so ensure you cover all key topics: - **Kinematics:** Understand motion in one and two dimensions, relative motion. - **Newton’s Laws of Motion:** Master the application of all three laws, including friction and dynamics. - **Work, Energy, and Power:** Focus on conservation laws, work-energy theorem. - **System of Particles and Rotational Motion:** Study center of mass, torque, angular momentum, and rotational dynamics. - **Gravitation:** Gravitational force, fields, potential energy, and satellite motion. ### 6. **Study Plan:** - **Daily Practice:** - Dedicate specific hours daily to mechanics. Start with theory revision followed by problem-solving. - **Weekly Review:** - Review what you learned throughout the week and solve a mixed set of problems to test your understanding. - **Monthly Tests:** - Take a full-length test every month to assess your progress. ### 7. **Additional Resources:** - **Online Lectures and Tutorials:** - Platforms like NPTEL, Khan Academy, and YouTube channels offer quality video lectures on mechanics. - **Discussion Forums:** - Participate in online forums like Stack Exchange, askIITians, or any coaching-specific forums to discuss doubts and solutions. By following this structured approach and consistently putting in effort, you can significantly strengthen your mechanics for the IIT-JEE. read less
