Which one is easier: the IELTS General or the IELTS Academic?

Both are easier if you practise a lot. Both are used for different purposes. IELTS GT is basically using for immigration and work permits whereas IELTS Academic is used for study purpose and for Australia PR it will help you to get good marks as well.

Academia is advanced in comparison to General. Yet it depends on the purpose of taking these exams.

The level of difficulty for reading snd writing in IELTS academic is more as it is taken by students who want to go abroad for university studies. Both Academic and General have different difficulty level. For example, Academic Reading is difficult and lengthy and General reading is tricky. Listening and speaking are same.Writing task 1are different but writing task 2 are same(topics are different). .
