Many students ask me a question "I am weak in English. How do I improve my scores?". My answer to them is simple. why are you weak in English? I ask them because you have neglected it. I tell my students to listen to BBC news daily make notes and paraphrase and then discuss. I as them to write small blogs on familiar topics. Read small newspaper clips and articles, which can improve their reading speed and develop their vocabulary. Immersion in learning is very important. I have discussion forums and train them on the art of thinking and articulating, writing and expressing their ideas. When you read an article pay close attention to how ideas are organized. Read for understanding rather than just reading in a mechanical way.
Be focussed and committed. Make a timetable follow it meticulously. IELTS is a test of your skills on reading, listening, speaking and writing. This is not unfortunately like the memory test s that you have written all these days. It is rather skills that are tested. A lot of of practice is required. First, you must identify your areas of weakness and then work on it systematically to improve upon them.
