Writing module The IELTS general training writing module consists of 2 different tasks: IELTS writing task 1 (at least 150 words) IELTS writing task 2 (at least 250 words) The first part is about letter writing. There are three different formats in letter writing. Formal Letter Semi-formal Letter Informal Letter Some tips to keep in mind for this task are: Have a good understanding of the scoring format Keep a minimum count of at least 150 words Maintain a legible handwriting Allot no more than 20 minutes for this task Always check the spelling. In the second task, you need to write an essay of about 250 words. Every good essay consists of 3 parts - an introduction, a body and a strong conclusion. Make sure of the structure standard of the essay and provide a valuable opinion. Reading module Use the tools- skimming and scanning. Skim over the passage and scan for useful information. You need to complete the whole thing within 60 minutes. So make sure you don't run out of time. Speaking module Feel comfortable with the examiner Be confidence while speaking so that you appear smart and bright. Practise in front of a mirror. read less
