If you want to improve your reading score in exams like IELTS or TOEFL, then the first thing you need to do is to put in some time to improve where you're going wrong. Which part of it is consuming your time? If you know this, then you can put in more efforts in that particular field. Start watching videos on youtube, preferably with subtitles. This can improve your pace, instead of going with your own pace. Your score in reading and any other module is directly proportional to the number of mock tests you take. You can start solving the practise tests because they are almost of the same level as that of the exam. One main suggestion is that you have to avoid skimming and scanning through the pages. This will not help you increase the clarity in your reading. Read them to absorb every idea and not to get an overall vague idea. See that you are making short notes while reading the passage. You don't have to write complete sentences; write a word for an idea and move on. Don't hurry up with reading while you are practising. Take time to read, and once you become a good reader and comprehend things quickly, you will automatically read faster. Hope this helps. All the best! read less
