Overview

Tabla being a difficult instrument to accept and Play . It has been my childhood hardwork to put all the dots together , that makes my confidence to teach in much more ease and as I have took guidance under one of the legendary musician Ustad Zakir Hussain , I go by the strict words by my guru who says ,knowledge sharing is the best thing you can do , apart from performing in general. Students not only become emotionally attached to me ,even I take them up as a family and a part of the great Guru Shisya Tradition.

Having a 17 years of experience in research in tabla making, tabla playing and its various repertoires , I have induced myself in bringing up the best I can teach and learn from the students.

Teaching Experience in detail in Tabla Classes

Tabla being a traditional North Indian Classical Instrument , has its importance in teaching style ,which can be only done in a decor of guru-shisya parampara , I myself have learnt in that tradtion of learning or accquiring knowledge and I too want that the students and aspirants who all are there should also experience the same.Guru Shisya Parampara is vital in nowadays because it ads up to the curriculum of the student or shisya to follow a path of discipline for the whole life , it is not for 1 year or 2 years there is no specified years of course but to learn and learn until you got something satisfying for yourself. We conduct exams also held by the affiliation of Indira Kala Parishad , Chattisgarh . Students who want to have a certified course are also involved in learning in a course pattern, but the students donot only specify for the sake of giving only exams, there are several workshops, live performances and learning experiences available nowadays , I feel that these things really matter when you're learning a performing art rather than just doing the paper work out there . Things are now at a change in our country many young students are taking it as a whole career too , the are involved in expanding the vast repertoire of Indian Music , collaborating and associating with various musicians accross globe, socializing I would say rather than , connecting to the artiste. Each talent finds it way out for some great things in future as far as tabla is concerned.

What is the difference between wooden and steel drum shells?

Wooden drums has got the feel of natural acoustics , as compared to steel or brass drum shells , wooden drum shells are more of capable of producing the same amount or a balance between the high treble and high bass sounds, an appropriate balance between Low Mids and Para Mids .
