Exercise is all about moving your body but whereas yoga is moving your body along with breath and awareness.Yoga is done slowly by stretching and relaxing your muscles parallely. Yoga is combination of warmups, suryanamaskara, Asanas, pranayama, meditation and chanting.
Yes exercise and yoga can go together.
After doing rapid movements you can do yoga for relaxation and release the stress from your body.
