Though I do teach till 10th standard, I take only till 8th standard – because if their background till class 8 is bad, they won’t be able to catch up in 9th. It is sad to see that even highly expensive schools in Hyderabad (that charge 3+ Lakhs/year) don’t teach concepts. Children learn fast at an early age. Maths is foundation for life and children are scared of it! I ensure that the child understands concepts. In next 4 to 5 years 50% of today’s jobs will disappear due to automation and AI (Google for 2020 world economic forum for full article). India – especially South India is producing huge quantity of unemployable engineers every year. Unless the students learn concepts, their employability or studying in US for post-graduation in top class universities is difficult.
