I teach students to respect diversity, various aesthetic dance forms and also to strive to preserve the authenticity and original grammar of Bharatanatyam. I always emphasize that, like other dance forms, Bharatanatyam too has its own particular attributes, expertise and place of respect. My students have access to specialized workshops where not only practical but theoretical knowledge also gets an equal weightage. I strongly believe in - Fitness of body is fitness of mind. To keep the body in shape and the spirit happy, I ensure my students do basic workout exercises. Instruction is given both in theory and practical aspects of Bharatanatyam. I have been learning Bharatanatyam since childhood, having given many performances at state and national level competitions from a very young age.
