The cell cycle consists of two main phases: interphase and M phase (mitosis). Interterphase and M phase (mitosis). Interphase is further divided into G1, S, and G2 phases, while M phase includes prophase, metaphase, anaphase, and telophase.

Interphase:

G1 (Gap 1) Phase: The cell grows and carries out normal metabolic activities. It prepares for DNA replication.

S (Synthesis) Phase: DNA replication occurs, resulting in the duplication of each chromosome.

G2 (Gap 2) Phase: The cell continues to grow and produce proteins and other molecules needed for cell division. It also prepares for mitosis.

M Phase (Mitosis):

Prophase:

Chromosomes condense and become visible, the nuclear envelope breaks down, and the mitotic spindle begins to form.

Metaphase:

Chromosomes line up along the middle of the cell (metaphase plate), attached to the spindle fibers.

Anaphase:

Sister chromatids of each chromosome separate and move towards opposite poles of the cell.

Telophase:

The separated chromosomes reach the poles, new nuclear envelopes form around them, and the cell starts to divide.

The cell cycle has two phases: Interphase and M phase.

Interphase includes:

  • G₁ phase: Cell grows and makes proteins.

  • S phase: DNA is replicated.

  • G₂ phase: Cell prepares for division.

M phase includes mitosis, divided into:

  • Prophase: Chromosomes condense, spindle forms.

  • Metaphase: Chromosomes line up in the center.

  • Anaphase: Chromatids are pulled apart.

  • Telophase: Nuclear membranes reform.

Finally, cytokinesis splits the cell into two.

Valecncy 4

Atomic no 6

Electronic configuration  2,4

IT CAN FORM 4 BONDSWITH OTHER C ATOMS RESULTING IN LARGE CHAINS OF CARBON

Vishal Kumar Jangid replied | 22 hrs ago

first you need to know about valecy role in an atom, outer most shell of atom have fully filled or partially filled electrons.

Outer most shell play key role in forming chemical properties of atom related to element.

Carbon, has 6 electron so on filling in shells we notice

k shell have 2 electron,

L shell have 4( which should have 8 electron,by 2n^2 octate formula ).thats why carbon has 4 valence electron.

Because of valency of carbon,it can bond with other atoms to form compound. The bond it can make with other atoms like single, double or tripple bond but single bond are more stable in nature while compare to others.

The property by which carbon can form long chain compound called catenation.

this catenation property we can found in our pencile, plastic tiffin box and in our genes(DNA)
