Give him time and support. If you put pressure on him, he will take studies only as a burden, just stay calm and show confidence in him, tell him, he is capable of doing everything, tell him its okay to fail, he can score good in the next test. How much time will it take for me to speak English very fluently? Currently I know English but I cannot speak fluently.

A good teacher can help you with that. You just need to get over the hesitation part. If you want to work it out yourself then, have the courage to make mistakes, remember ' Only those generals have won the battle, who weren't afraid to loose.'
