If you're not an experienced player, you should know someone who is, who could come with you to try out guitars in person. Otherwise you will be shopping and choosing based on cosmetic appeal alone. There's a lot of variation from one guitar to another. Even when comparing the same exact models. An experienced player will be able to tell a lot more about an instrument's quality and wether it's a good fit for you. however, how comfortable it feels in your hands, like with your eyes closed, is just as important as how it sounds or looks. A guitar that’s comfortable — with the neck and your chording hand, the body under the forearm of your strumming arm — will feel more like an easy extension of yourself than one where, say, the neck’s a little too big or the body’s uncomfortable. read less
