Buy an acoustic guitar... you will need it to practise a bit everyday to strengethen your hands and finger tips. Learn some basic chords in the open position from a book or online. if you are keen on pursuing playing guitar find a teacher near your area and start classes. You will need a teacher to ell you if you are doing things correctly. Once you get past the initial stage of being comfortable with an acoustic guitar its time to buy and electric and try the same thing on the electric. Follow up with exercises for improving your playing. read less

How do I practice the F chord on a guitar?
Index finger on the 1st fret of the B (2nd) string. Middle finger on the 2nd fret of the G (3rd) string. Ring finger on the 3rd fret of the D (4th) string.
