I currently finished my 4th year. I gave my GRE during my 7th semester. Which means, I started preparing in my 5th semester, 4 hours a week. And I scored a 325 in GRE. So, there is plenty of time if you want to prepare smoothly. More late you start preparing, higher will be the amount of hard work you...

More over Final year is not a good time to prepare for GRE as you would be engaged with various collage activities plus assignments etc. Also to apply for next fall you should have your GRE scores ready by this December. Also you would be having a time to retake if you want to do so to improve your score. Hence this is the best time to start your preparations. read less

W.r.t to the GRE Prep an Ideal Prep time is around 4-5 Months with around 15-20 Hours Per Week, this of course may vary based on your current standing, remember one size doesn't fit all and it's imperative you understand your strengths and weakness before you start your classes, you are free to visit our Center in Indiranagar, Bangalore and attempt a full length mock test and speak to the faculty 0ne-on-one before you chalk out a plan, in case the distance is an issue the same can be done online. read less

Start Now! I agree with what Saumya has written. If you spend 4-8 hours. a week and take periodic mock GREs then you can easily score 320+ if you take the final GRE in final year. But please keep in mind the costs involved and the application process to courses and colleges.

I am not being able to divide the time between quant and verbal for GRE. I have the official guide of ETS . Help me with the time I should devote to each section in order to score more than 320.
I would suggest you take a mock test and divide the preparation time for each section based on your mock test score. Usually the verbal section takes more time since it is much more difficult than the quant section.
