Force is vector quantity. F=mass×acceleration . Where mass is magnitute and acceleration is direction . Vector quantity has both magnitude and direction . Hence Force is a vector quantity. Force is applied on a particular direction this makes force a vector quantity

As F=m*a, a product of mass and acceleration. Acceleration is a vector quantity whereas mass is a scalar quantity. Product of scalar and vector quantity is a vector quantity. This shows that force is a vector quantity.
