Learning should be fun. For eg, if you need to learn various soil types in india. Take india map, and reprend each soil type with a different colour on the map. And see the difference

Is force a scalar quantity?

As F=m*a, a product of mass and acceleration. Acceleration is a vector quantity whereas mass is a scalar quantity. Product of scalar and vector quantity is a vector quantity. This shows that force is a vector quantity.

i think tuition teacher should understand your I.Q. level first. It is not easy to understand each and every line of books. Some lines may have hidden meaning. I recommend you to study from reference books and internet resources also. As, text book contains only limited information.
