I am a tutor and I get good responses from students for communication training (advanced) and spoken English training. These students who are into communication training category have decent to good English skills but still need improvement. So they are constantly asking me for speaking training / spoken only. What topics do I cover for such students who needs only topics to talk?

The fallacy in your question is your responsibility of deciding the topics. Considering they are advanced learners, the topics to be covered would develop from their conversation and not vice-versa. I would suggest, and it has worked for me 66% of the time, that you facilitate a structured debate and then decide the topic for the day. There are many formats available for discourses, and they always assess a person's comprehension and construction of response. In the process, you will discover an 'n' number of topics to cover, today and for tomorrow.

Hi, Amazing question!! I am assuming you are talking about French, and that you teach French. If that is correct, and the student understands the meaning, great, however, you must correct every misread word because you and I both know that a simple mispronunciation can change the meaning of the entire sentence, in French. Please be gentle but correct all. It will only improve the student's grasp of the language, it will not hurt the student ability to make sense of the language. Be gentle, and let the student know what you intend to do, clearly.

I am an L&D Manager and hence its imperative for me to work with the communications training department, give training to senior managers, higher management etc. What course would best suit my career?

Arnab, brother, now that you have become a manager in L&D (Congratulations!), you must widen your horizon. Every audience that you and your team facilitate learning to, you must understand their world, tech/non-tech doesn't matter. You should take classes that compliment your company's core strengths. IT or ITES or BPO or any other, you should increase your understanding of what your learners world and environment revolves around.

A language which has brought jobs and also has resulted in a loss of jobs for many. It's a language people can communicate in when their languages are not comprehended. English is the lnaguage of peace and it is the language that declares war as well. As a language it is symbolic of ancient Anglo openess towards open trade and tolerance of other languages. Most of its words have roods in Latin, French, Germa, Sanskrit and other tribal dialects of the ancient world. Speaking, strictly for the language of English. Well, it is like any other language. It is as difficult to learn as the learner's lack of motivation, and as easy to learn as the learner's determination. It is not poenetic, which means, what you write is not what you speak. It is formal and informal and derogatory, but so is any other language on the planet. There are languages, however which don't have words such as war and crime in their vocabulary, so English is also a language of introducing concepts foreing to people. English is a way of life that is welcoming of other's way of life. In short, English is whatever you want it to be. Fun, challenging, alienating, compassionate, etc. So, what is English to you?
