Hello Twinkle I think it has mostly got to do with fear. Generally, most of our up-bringing is based out of fear for life, starting with your name, your education, higher studies, jobs which are more inclined towards higher earnings than personal satisfaction due to peer pressure or competition. All this to assume life has to be smooth sailing, less risk plus no need of ‘what would society think’ clause. The second one to blame is our education system. Producing Robots for future. Stress is on marks and results than behaviour and interests. Not even basic life skills we learn in schools & colleges (definitely not all schools or unless someone takes a keen interest early in their life). Who cares about what a child wants. We only need results no matter what. Added to this, thanks to technology kids know acting, singing, even sports …online or through apps. Where will the learning desire come if children are exposed to this atmosphere. But on a positive note, things are changing a lot and people started exploring their passions little late, than never and parents started to think about kids happiness and allowing them to give their talents some stage to perform. read less

Main reason is lack support from their family and social circle In India....making dancing/acting/singing as a career means either you have very modern and open parents or you take the rebellious path. Belonging to middle class is another speed bump.
