Meaning: This law relates the momentum and force and time. 1) impulse is the product of force and time duration which is equal to the change in momentum. F*dt=dP ( in this case F is called as impact force) If the time is delayed for the same change in the momentum, the impact force will be decreased. This we will see while a cricket catches a ball. 2) to understand the contact forces like friction. Kinetic friction can be explained using this law, where the net applied force is utilised to balance the kinetic friction and the remaining will be shown in the form of acceleration.
