No, aa for euclidean space, the displacement is always greater than or equal to the distance travelled as goes by it's definition that it is the shortes way possible to reach from point A to point B. And hence in euclidean geometry, turns out to be the straight line or the vector connecting the points...

Displacement is always less than or equal to the distance. If in opposite direction it is always less than distance. If it is in same direction it may be equal to distance but never can be greater than the the distance.

If force is acting on a moving body perpendicular to the direction of motion, then what will be its effect on the speed and direction of the body?
The magnitude of velocity shall decrease and direction shall be same till it comes to rest, afterwards it shall move in direction of force with acceleration due to the applied force.
