I am Joel Siju Varghese, a vocalist, singer-songwriter, and musician with 6 years of experience in teaching music. I am the founder of Negainah School of Music, an institution I am building with the aim of making music education enjoyable, accessible, and creative for students of different ages and skill levels. Through my teaching, I want to help students discover their musical interests, develop their abilities, and build confidence in expressing themselves through music. At Negainah School of Music, I teach guitar, ukulele, keyboard, and Western vocals. As the founder and currently the sole faculty member, I personally guide students through their musical journey, providing them with individual attention and practical training. I believe that every student has the potential to develop musical skills with the right guidance, consistent practice, and an encouraging learning environment. My teaching approach focuses on helping students build a strong foundation before progressing to more advanced techniques. I emphasize understanding the fundamentals of music, developing proper techniques, improving rhythm and coordination, and practising regularly. Whether a student is beginning their musical journey or looking to improve existing skills, I aim to make lessons structured, engaging, and suitable for their current level of understanding. While teaching guitar, ukulele, and keyboard, I help students become familiar with their instruments, understand basic musical concepts, and gradually develop the ability to play songs with greater confidence. My lessons focus on practical application alongside theoretical understanding, allowing students to put what they learn into practice. For Western vocals, I guide students in developing their singing abilities, improving vocal control, understanding pitch and rhythm, and expressing themselves more confidently through their voice. As a musician, I have experience performing as part of Antidote, a Christian metal band. My involvement in music as a performer and songwriter has helped me develop a practical understanding of musical expression, performance, and creativity. I bring these experiences into my teaching to help students appreciate music beyond the classroom and understand how musical concepts can be applied in real-world performance settings. I have also gained professional experience working with a television channel and served as a judge for a programme at a medical college. These opportunities have broadened my exposure to different aspects of music, performance, and evaluation. They have also strengthened my appreciation for the dedication, preparation, and confidence required to perform and present music effectively. My goal through Negainah School of Music is to create a supportive space where students can explore their musical interests, improve their skills, and enjoy the process of learning. I believe music education should encourage creativity, patience, discipline, and self-expression rather than focus only on technical perfection. Through personalised guidance and practical lessons, I strive to help every student progress at their own pace, discover their potential, and develop a lasting connection with music.

I've been playing guitar for almost 6 years, I was part of many band aswell and I play for recordings.I'm more like a session guitarist. My skills would be I'm good at Chord works, Fingerstyle playing and at playing lead.

The course structure has been designed by an academic council led by eminent music celebrities like Hariharan, Salim Merchant, Kavitha Krishnamurthy, Alka Yagnik, Anand Sharma, Bickram Ghosh who also deliver their wisdom to the children. Children from all over the country receive similar learning from the stars.

Half Step Rock – a premier institute for music learning and production has announced its special summer program starting April 1, 2015. During the camp, select 40 students will be inducted into a 60 days program conceived with a single objective of bringing out their best through rigorous, yet fun-filled program of learning, practicing and working along with a team of renowned industry professionals. These students will form 5 to 8 bands, each with vocals, drummer, 3 guitarists and a pianist. The bands will select one Classical Rock Track to perform at the end of 60 days before a home crowd of family and friends The live performances will also be shared with a larger audience on Half Step Rock’s YouTube Channel. Selection Criteria – All applicants will be required to go through an auditioning by an expert panel of judges to be selected as one of the 40 students.
