10 lakh apply every year for the exam..but only 5 lakh write the prelims exam...for mains around 10000 candidates appear and for interview 2000-3000

Many options if you wish for a govt job. Also try for other exams conducted by UPSC such as CAPF, ICAR etc. Try for CGL by SSC and thirdly many vacancies are in banking and insurance sector through IBPS and other organisations

Both options are equally good. It depends on your interest and skills. M.Sc is more into the how and why part while MCA is application oriented. That is MCA is more towards the usage of existing technologies...
