2. The Plural Number

Singular Number A noun that denotes one person or thing is said to be in the singular number, e.g. boy, cat, book, pen, pencil, city, wife, lady. 

Plural Number A noun that denotes more than one person or thing is said to be in the plural number, e.g. boys, cats, books, pens, pencils, cities, wives, ladies.

Formation of Plural

1. By adding 's' to the singular noun.
