The reasons why India is rich in flora and fauna is because India is known to be a diverse country with innumerous species of animals and plants. Different types of vegetation are found on different parts of the country which are the habitat of different animals. The soil also makes a fact for this diversification, many types of soil are available to grow different kinds of plants and vegetables.

The climatic changes as in the temperature and humidity are seen to be widely different from that of South and north of India as well as the east and the west. This is a critical factor that influences the large variety of flora and fauna. Even the monsoon season is varied across India to support the climate, which in turn helps the different species of plants and animals to survive accordingly.

There is also no extreme climatic conditions in India as 75 per cent of the Indian land is monitored by the influence of the sea,

 Hope this helps

India has a rich heritage of flora and fauna because of the following reasons which are strictly interrelated: 1) latitudinal location-wise India lies mainly in the tropical region ( 10° to 30°) with some of its southern part and islands lying in the equatorial region. Due to this, India has weather conditions conducive for the growth of rich flora as well as fauna. 2) India has a vast river system which further contributes towards fertile soil rich in nutrients made available for growth of plants and trees. 3) from north to different south types of soil and topography covers India which makes its various regions like the Himalayas, Sundarbans of Bengal etc. great biological hotspots.
