Stage fear is common to every one. So first of all you don't have to feel bad about it. There are many ways to shed this fear you can select one of a combination of many, as it suits you the best. - Your knowledge of the subject on which you are going to speak must be very high. Knowledge will give you the basic confidence of speaking. - Sequence. You must set the sequence in which you would be speaking. You can write down the points in that sequence and keep these ready for reference. You can also make a power point presentation, which will set the sequence of talk for you and help you cover the whole subject logically. - Practice. You must practice your speech either in front of a friend/family member or even in front of a mirror. Practice will give you sufficient confidence to speak in front of any amount of gathering. - The fear of speaking in front of the gathering would go with experience. You will feel under-confident for first one or two speeches, thereafter, the fear will naturally go provided, you preparations for the speech and your knowledge of the subject is good. Lastly have faith in your preparations and your speaking capabilities and get into it, you will be fine. The best way to avoid fear is to get into the thing, which is giving you the fear.
