Fibromyalgia is a condition which has symptoms like fatigue, insomnia, depression, pain etc. Doing Yoga will surely help in reducing all the symptoms, but if you are in extreme discomfort avoid it till you feel better. Do yoga but don't stop medication on your own. Take your doctors advice.

Yoga is an ancient science, which is supposed to be propounded by Hiranyagarbha. You can find this in the ancient Vedic literature. Yoga is an ancient science, which is supposed to be propounded by Hiranyagarbha. You can find this in the ancient Vedic literature. Also Adiyogi or Shiva is supposed to be first yogi, who is also the first teacher who taught yoga to seven deciples, or the saptarishi and his wife Parvati. But today we can find evidence about yoga upto 5000 years ago, which is the period of Maharishi Patanjali, where he wrote the Yoga Sutra.

In yoga while doing a posture you have to pay complete attention to the body and watch the breath in the same posture. Movement in the body happens in the skeleton with the help of muscles. Yoga helps flex and tone the muscles, which help the internal organs maintain their health. This is the benefit for the body. While doing yoga we are supposed to watch our body and breath, which is an exercise to the mind. When body and mind are on one place it helps you understand the basics of meditation and the importance of breath. Hence yoga helps in the overall health of an individual.

Yoga is completely different from exercise. In yoga you have to maintain a posture., while in a workout you have to do repeated movement. You can do some warmup exercise before yoga.
