As a Career Counselor, we usually ask the following questions

1) Why are you opting for a change? Why now? 

2) Is there any specific area/profile do you have it in your mind?

3) In case the answer is 'YES' to the above questions, do you have the required skills set?

4) Have you done a SWOT analysis of yourself?

I usually tell my students to watch videos of their interest areas (interviews of singers, actors, cooking shows, celebrities/ role models from different background) and then record the summary in their own words. Wherever you get stuck, note down the word and try to guess the meaning of it in the first place. If you cannot answer it, look in the dictionary.
