In my career counselling I follow same and further shortlist 3:4 suitable careers based on discussions. in life what is ultimately required is fulfillment and contentment. Career is not for money earning alone and also not for best starting pay package. Career goes upto your age of 60. So psychological factors are very important. what normally happen is based on limited knowledge of parents or relatives career is selected. By this I mean you should be well updated with current affairs. Now why is this important while choosing a career??? Simple. Only when you know things you are going to get curious about it and would want to know more. Career selection can only come when yo are aware about differnt careers and are wanting to know about what happens where. Secondly develop yourself. If you don't have skills you can never find a career that suits you. You don't wait to find a career nad then deveop skills. You deveop skills and then careers options open in front of you.
