I have found that most of the pupils who are not able to speak English have one problem in common and that is their hesitancy to speak up, their shyness which can be overcome easily. In spoken English i try to be very friendly and concentrate most on talking to them in English on evryday real life situations and of course i give them writing task and basics of grammar.

Hi. You can overcome it by speaking more and more and forgetting about what others will say or feel. Moreover wen a good English speaker speaks listen to him or her attentively. Practise more and more by speaking short simple sentences. Gud luck.

Hi nitin. It depends on individual teacher. I don't think it's a norm but it differs from teacher to teacher and course.
