Hi Chandan, Many people have come to me with this question, and I am going to tell you what I have told them - When you start something new, you are bound to make mistakes. Remember the first time you sat on a bicycle? Did you manage to balance yourself on the bike? Most likely, No. But that did not stop you from getting on the bike again, did it? You did it again and again until you mastered the skill. It must have been embarrassing every time you fell, but you didn't care. It's the same thing with English. Don't bother about people's comments. Focus on your goal. Speak whenever possible and practise as much as you can. You are bound to make mistakes because you are learning. That's ok. read less

Simple, STOP caring about other people. Nobody is perfect. You are not perfect, and they are not perfect. :) Also, be open to being corrected. People want to help you; some sure make fun of others' language, but understand that English is JUST a language; it does not define you. Also, English is not your first language, not your mother tongue, so how can you and other people expect you to be fluent in it? The only way to remove hesitation is to keep speaking, let people be uncomfortable because you know that communication only improves by communicating. Besides that, read more, watch English movies with English subtitles, carefully read them, understand them, and imitate them. It's just a language. JUST a speech meant to express ourselves, primarily to communicate with the people who cannot speak your mother tongue. People will judge you no matter what; you can't skip that. All the best!Be open to receive feedback and be confident. :) read less

Can "as far as" mean "with regard to" or "concerning" without the "is concerned" part? In everyday dialogue, is it interchangeable with "as far as something is concerned"?
Hey Pooja, 'As far as' means 'as much as' Eg As far as I know, it is possible. As far as that table is concerned, I am not sure if it is wooden or metallic. I hope this answers your question. Regards

There are many idioms, phrases and quotes on shoes. "It isn't the mountain ahead that wears you out; it's the grain of sand in your shoe" "A woman carries her clothes. But the shoe carries the woman" Can You Share an interesting shoe-incident in your life or an idiom or a phrase? A shoe anecdote: I had to trek bare-footed to my school till my school final. Three kilometers from my house to a Railway station, then travel by train, and finally from there to school by walk along the railway track. Once my neighbour's son of my age bought a pair of new branded shoes. It didn't fit him, the shoe that fits one person pinches another. One fine morning his mother told me to try it out and it neither pinched or bit me. I was very happy to get into my neighbour's shoes. She told me that she would take her son's permission and offer it to me. The permission was granted and the message was passed on to my mother. I used to visit her house daily thinking that she would tell me to take it. To my bad luck she forgot the mega offer to me. My ego didn't permit me to ask her. Crying baby gets the milk. I didn’t cry, It went on for one year. The shoe gathered dust and finally disappeared, might be to a dust-bin. I bought variety of imported shoes once I started earning. But that Longing of my neighbour's shoes, which fitted me without any pinch, still PINCHES me. No state of the art shoes would replace that longing.
