Overview

I recently graduated from IIT Gandhinagar, with my thesis topic in Gravity.Currently I am working as research student in Gravity Group, at Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar. Gravity being most rich and rigorous of the whole physics field,it requires a thorough knowledge of classical and quantum mechanics, field theory at the PG level, and in all UG theoretical physics as well in all aspects of plus two level physics. In academia, teaching is a big part. With my experience and passion for physics as well as current knowledge in the topic,I would like to help students in their learning as teaching will not only help me to gather experience, it will also help me to keep my basics brushed up. I have expertise in all the theoretical physics in UG and PG level and all topics of class IX to XII, which will help me to teach students in high school, UG or PG level.Working in such a rigorous field enables me to provide students with insight in the subject, advanced knowledge, mathematical proficiency and techniques, which is invaluable and rare in these level. I am proficient in working with mathematical software, which I will teach my students, as it has become an integral part of modern physics. Apart from that I have cleared all national level competitive exam, which experiences will help me to prep my students for such exams.I am enthusiastic about teaching the knowledge I am gathering in my course of research, and would like to inspire students in their journey as well.

The Earth moving round the Sun in a circular orbit is acted upon by a force, and hence
work must be done on the Earth by this force. Do you agree with this statement?" in   CBSE/Class 11/Science/Physics

The force on earth jn circular trajectory is gravity, acting radially inward...the direction of motion is tangential.....as u knw work is dot product of force and dx, the work done is zero.

A book with many printing errors contains four different formulas for the displacement y of a particle undergoing a certain periodic motion:
ncert-solutions-class-11th-physics-chapter-2-units-measurements-7
(a = maximum displacement of the particle, v = speed of the particle, T = time-period of motion)Rule out the wrong formulas on dimensional grounds.

" in   CBSE/Class 11/Science/Physics/Unit 1-Physical World and Measurement/Chapter2: Units and Measurements

In terms of dimensional ground only. the problematic answers are b and c. Although i suspect option b is a typo, and the argument of the sine function should be nu(frequency), rather than v as you have written.

Explanation:- The argument of sine should be dimensionless. one can easily see, in option b and c, the argument has dimension of length and (time/length) respectively.

"Do electromagnetic waves carry energy and momentum?" in   CBSE/Class 12/Science/Physics

YES; they most certainly do. I am giving you a very brief conceptual answer, without equations for starter.

consider an EM field. Now if you are to carry a point charge from infinity(field =0) to a certain point, you need to do some work against it, which will be stored as energy in the field. Now in a static configuration, there is no EM wave. But consider, some of the energy stored is flowing out of a small volume, then that will constitue as EM wave, which will be carrying off the above mentioned energy. similarly, they also carry the moentum, though the argument is bit different.

a very interesting example of EM waves carrying momentum is Feynmann Disk paradox. You can look it up,or contact me.

Can you add three unit vectors to get a unit vector? Does the answer change if two unit vectors are along coordinate axis? Please give example.

" in   CBSE/Class 11/Science/Physics, CBSE/Class 12/Science/Physics, Vector Algebra

Just consider an unit square ABCD, where the vectors are AB,BC,CD (the direction is from the previous letter to latter); then the resultant,AD, will be another unit Vector. it doesnot change the fact, if 2 of them are along coordinate axes. Just draw a phasor diagram.

Now, to be precise, this answer assumed the back ground spacetime is flat. the diagram will be different in curved one

1.What is light?

Ans:Light is a form energy, which gives sensation ofof sig.

2.What is transparent medium?

Ans:A medium through which light can propagate easily.

Eg-glass, bottle, bulb etc

3.What is translucent medium?

Ans:A medium through which light can propagate partially.

Eg-paper, certain types of plastic, frosted glass etc.

4.What is opaque?

Ans:It is a medium through which light can not be propagate.

Eg- wood, cement wall, iron etc.

Mr. Ray,i am sorry to comment on your post, but as it is an educational forum,i belive it is of paramount importance to post correct answers. 1st of all, light is not energy, rather the visible part of em spectra. And in your next 2 questions, the answers should have given using physical concepts like refractive index of the material.
