Definitely. Without finger exercise it is very difficult to play a song in Legato.

Your question itself is not correct. A chord is when 2 or more keys are pressed on the keyboard. A triad is a chord when the 1st, 3rd and 5th notes of a scale are played together. e.g if C,E & G keys are pressed together the C triad (chord) played.
