But that doesn't mean you can't choose a major scale over a minor. But if you are starting with soloing for the first time, apply this. E.g., For A minor chord, play A natural minor ( aeolian mode) or minor pentatonic scale. For A major, play A major scale (Ionian mode) or major pentatonic scale. I hope it helps. read less

It's effortless, sir. First, you have to decide on relatives notes of a particular song or tune. After that, you would get a third note which will be 'Ga'. If it's original, then it's major, and if it's half-scale down compare to actual, then it's minor.

Your question itself is not correct. A chord is when 2 or more keys are pressed on the keyboard. A triad is a chord when the 1st, 3rd and 5th notes of a scale are played together. e.g if C,E & G keys are pressed together the C triad (chord) played.
