In Java, a constructor is a special type of method within a class that gets invoked automatically when an object of that class is created. Its primary purpose is to initialize the object's state or assign initial values to its instance variables. Constructors have the same name as the class and do not have any return type, not even void. They can be used to perform various tasks such as setting default values, initializing variables, or executing specific logic necessary for the object's proper instantiation. Constructors can be parameterized (accepting arguments) or default (with no arguments), allowing different ways to create objects with specific initializations. If no constructor is explicitly defined within a class, Java provides a default constructor, which initializes member variables to their default values. read less

Constructor is a special method to initialise Java objects. Usually initialisation logic is kept inside the constructor. Java compiler by default creates a default no arg constructor if no constructor is defined already.

What is a constructor in Java? In Java, a constructor is a term that describes a line of code used to create an instance of a class object. Since a Java class serves as a blueprint for a reusable object, Java language developers made a way to construct a copy of class objects.

Is synchronized keyword necessary, in Java, if everything that is modified in a function is local to that function?
No, it is not required if you make sure whatever parameters are updated/modified will be done as atomic references/operations. Atomicity is an alternative to syncronizatiom.
