The essays of IELTS are very easy to attempt as the topics given are general in nature. In order to properly attempt the essay:
 1. Always give an introduction to the topic in a few lines 5 TO 6 lines.
2. Make a body after introduction which may contain 2 to 3 paragraphs.
3. Give a proper conclusion whether in for or against the topic or just give an amicable solution. The essay may not always have a for or against, there you must give all the valid points that describe your essay in a nutshell.
4. Write more than 250 words, try to end in 350 to 400 words.
5. Use proper grammar, content, vocabulary, coherence and proper punctuation to make a presentable essay.
1. Never copy the language of the question to introduce the essay.
2. Do not write too lengthy or too precise essays.
3. Do not be too assertive of an opinion.
Some general instructions:
Try to create a backbone (bullet points) before writing the essay. Think before you write. Formulate ideas in mind and think about what you will write in introduction, body and conclusion. Do all of this in a rough sheet. You will not forget any idea while writing if you follow this. Once you are done with the writing process always read what you have written and check for mistakes and rectify those. You will be able to write an awesome essay in 40 minutes if you keep these little things in mind.
In order to get ideas read more and more, it will increase your reading speed as well. Do check old papers and sample papers to see what kind of questions have come, read passages already available online and in books which have secured more than 7 bands on IELTS.
