I am a professional classical dancer with experience performing in India and abroad. I have learnt Mohiniyattam under Smt Gopika Varma and under Padmasri Kalamandalam Kshemavathy. I have also been pursuing Kathak for three years. I have written articles and edited a book on Dance in India, titled, 'Scripting Dance in Contemporary India' and have a strong grounding in the theory and philosophy of dance as well. I earned my PhD in Dance and Semiotics from IIT Bombay. I have started an institute, SADHAKA, in Banjara Hills Hyderabad, chiefly to promote the beautiful and graceful dance of Mohiniyattam. My goal is to groom and present a group of Mohinis in Hyderabad, who can practice and perform the dance. I encourage all, especially girls and women of all ages, who have an interest in Indian dance, to try Mohiniyattam, one of the most feminine, graceful and expressive dances. It is not just a physical activity, but a complete, holistic discipline, which has the potential to transform you into a beautiful being over time.

Creya is a dynamic 21st century learning system that equips children with literacies and competencies necessary to succeed in a world they will grow up to. Creya believes in the philosophy of constructivism and children are encouraged to build their own understanding and knowledge through experiences and reflect on those experiences by asking questions, exploring the surroundings and making an assessment of their discoveries.

As new discoveries and cutting-edge technologies dawn the new-age, the way children learn and play has undergone a sea of change. Children today, are weighed down by the burden of expectations and the pressure of performance right from a very young age. In the process, they miss out on the most valuable ingredient of childhood - Happiness. We at IRIS, have set out to create an atmosphere of happiness and security - a place where children are respected and recognized for who they are. Furthermore, IRIS is a creatively stimulating and nurturing place of excellence where the children's growth is self-propelled and they can be themselves, as they revel in the joy of childhood.
