What happens to my guitar if I don't play it for a long time?

The gap between the fret board will increase. If repairs are being done, do the repairs. If there is a use and throw, hang it on the wall. And strings also get damaged. Make those changes and start practicing again.

It will likely go out of tune. The wood could go bad if it gets too dry or too humid, changing the timbre of the sound. Also, the strings may lose their pluck and need to be replaced .

I teach freestyle and staff notations in keyboard and guitar from absolute beginner to intermediate.

The guitar will be damaged but you can repair or give service to it and then you can start play but you cannot play for long term with that guitar anyhow you have buy new one ultimately
