Should I stick to one kind of music like rock, jazz etc. and play Guitar or play all kinds of songs?

Well, to be a versatile musician, you need to try a hand at all forms. But then play what makes you comfortable. Like if you see slash, he's a rock guitarist but then he's played blues with bb king as well. I hope this helps

One should listen to different kinds of music in order to determine and narrow down to what one likes and resonates personally and then move ahead to playing it. Having said that, if you wish to be a professional musician and perform for a fee then it will be music on demand and you will be expected to have a good knowledge and mastery over various genres and forms of music. read less
