Vinay for lead playing you need to practice octave of all basic chords, this will help you understand scale and as you get understanding of scale you can play lead easily.

Well for learning guitar lead you have to start from scale basically major, natural minor, harmonic minor, melodic minor and then pentatonic scale....so this skill comes with time and practice....start practicing the basics everyday!!!

If you know chord Families then practice improvisation with chord's notes it does mean if rhythm is CFG chords then play C ka chord note at the time C and play same for F & G and then try to add different note between them
