You learn when you are comfortable.

You will never gain perfection... Because there is nothing like perfection... You keep learning.... However... You will be able to play it , perform, and sing along by 3rd month if you practice religiously.

In general, if you're practicing one hour in a day then you expect that you can clear your basics of the guitar within span of 4-6 months (which means you will start understanding many things on guitar and will be able to play Manu things on the guitar with the help of Google or YouTube). And if we talk about the decency in the playing or tone, it will easily take atlest one year (not just in guitar but in learning any musical instrument or even in vocals training). I would like to suggest you to join classes somewhere and atleast clear your basics of the guitar. In this way you can start your journey very smoothly. All the best! read less

They certainly don't. Semi acoustic have an electric amplifier built. However, they sound completely different even without amplifier cause of the shape, size.
