Does the type of wood of an electric guitar have an effect on its tone?

It is the reason behind your electric guitar tone what kind of wood it's made of, it's not about electric guitar it happens also when it comes to acoustic guitar old is the most important part of the guitar construction and it's tone, it's basically comes from the wood grain !

Yes the tone of guitar hugely depends on the wood of its fretboard. Maplewood and rosewood are two main types and it mostly depends on the players liking.
