Completely depends on how much you practice. The instrument gives back what you give to it. Also I feel one keeps on learning. Yes you could start playing chords of your favourite songs in 2 months dedicated practice time.

Mithun replied | 20 Jan

If you are looking for just the guitar without any effects processors, It'll hardly take about 3-4 months and along with the effect processor another 1-2 months. This duration is to achieve minimum basic playing knowledge. The more you practice the more proficient would would become. It depends a lot on the kind of trainer you are learning from and the way of teaching and practicing.

Modal theory is a study of alternate tonic of the root scale. The tonic varies to other notes of the scale so that we get different modes of it.

For beginners I would recommend any guitar below the price of Rs. 5000 INR.

0 0

Siddhartha replied | 16/12/2016

Keep your budget below Rs 4000. You won't get a dazzling sound but its best to go for cheap in the beginning. Someone has mentioned YAMAHA 310 but its costly. First learn to play then go for better guitars. After you learn to play the guitar you will know the sound difference but before its no point.

You should develop an interest in engineering, or whatever subjects you are learning. Actually the field 'engineering' is one of the most misunderstood concepts and there are different aspects of engineering like some parts of it can be pure mats, some can be purely working with your hands, like assembling, building with very less maths, some parts can be even purely theoretical like physics, if you are inclined towards science, there are evn areas where it can be highly interdisciplinary like 'sound or audio engineering' or even related to agriculture like bio- engineering.

You can google for Delhi based art pr music classes or check the particular sections of urbanpro, since their database is very good. Since we are based out of Chennai, I cannot readily recommmend any institute in Delhi, though a few of my professional contacts run their institutes.

Since you seem to come out strongly with 'I am not interested in engg' I gave this input, as it is better to involve yourself fully and whole-heartedly in some activity which you have taken up, it will have its benefits. There is not guarantee that you will not say ' I am not interested in art' after joining an art course.

I hope this answer will set you thinking a bit, and help in your development and growth. «less

Learning songs and chords without any music knowledge from YouTube is just a click away. But nobody appreciates your efforts if you cannot read what's there on ledger lines. Remember, a knowledgable person always stands out from everyone. So learning is something where you need to keep focus on practicing, it needs patience, time and your efforts. Then you can excel in no time.

Depends you know. You don't usually need to go for the same brand. However, if you're not willing to compromise on tonal quality, you could go ahead and change the entire set.
But if you're low on cash and don't exactly want to spend much, you can justjust change the broken string and it can be of any brand. There would be a very minor change in tonal quality but then it's not noticeable.

0 0

Princy replied | 11/09/2016

if you are happy with the sound u have played...go for same strings but if you want more quality sound...you can go for best quality strings however if it comes in your budget.

Once again the term "Best" is subjective. There are various brands within the same price range and all sound good. If your ear is tuned to a particular tone that you get with a particular set of strings then you should go for that, else experiment with other brands and maybe you will like something more.
