Hi. I wrote my GRE while studying Btech , so I guess I can answer your question. Usually, third year in Btech is a hectic year. Advanced course work, assignments, and maybe even the start of your projects. I would suggest studying for the GRE during the holidays (either christmas or summer holidays) and writing it immediately after the holidays. you will need about two months of solid preparation , so I would suggest summer holidays. Answer to Q.2 It is better to continue MS immediately after your UG. Since you are going to specialize in the area of your interest a break is not advisable. In case you are going to pursue MBA, then experience becomes necessary.
