How do I prepare for GRE and TOEFL during my B Tech? Which year should I start? Will a gap after UG affect my chances?

It is ideal to start preparing in your 6th semester, so that you can give your GRE by your 7th semester, which would around Sept-October. Now if you are target any Ivy League Colleges, then, make sure you are done with your GRE, TOEFL before October and you're ready with your SOP and LORs as well. Since, the application deadline is pretty early by December for most of the top colleges. If you are thinking of taking a break after your UG, make sure you mention how productive that break was in your SOP, so get a job related to your field of interest or do some research and publish it. read less
