Resistence is property of any material that opposes the flow ofelectric current. Capacitance is the ability to store the electric charge in it without flowing.This builds electric potential.

in a resistance energy gets dissipated, whereas in a capacitance energy is stored. resistance is a resistive device, whereas a capacitance is a reactive device. in a resistance the voltage and current are in phase, whereas in a capacitor, current and voltage are in quadrature.

Both are good. However, please avoid institutes like Gate Forum. They will offer low tuition fee and huge discounts. However, the GATE course material is of poor quality and faculties is mostly freshers.
