Try to solve previous year question from any publication like Made Easy or ACE Solved Gate Questions.

Topic wise study is best.. Made easy materials are very helpful... If you don't have those go for any standard book topic wise...

1. ACE or Made easy study materials 2. Textbooks of particular subjects like i. Engineering mechanics by Timoshenko and D H Young ii. Fluid mechanics by Bansal iii. Thermodynamics by Cengel and Boles iv. Mathematics by B S Grewal etc..

There is no specific book than basic textbooks. Any book designed for GATE cannot compete with the knowledge we get from reading text books. To practice for the questions appearing in GATE, the best way is to answer old GATE, IES, ISRO etc papers. Also today we can find ample material free of cost from the internet. But, it would be always better to get good guidance from any experienced good teacher for understanding concepts. A good teacher can give a lot of clarity of concepts and would reduce the time and energy for preparation considerably. read less
